RedHotBeast emerged from a gamer "who couldn't find subscribers" to a small but vocal activist. He had began preparing for the podcast ever since the shutdown of Philippine broadcaster ABS-CBN's TV and radio stations over government orders. It has hit him hard not only because it is the largest broadcaster in the country, but also because it happened while he was celebrating his birthday.
The first episode of Red's Weekly was first published on Anchor and Spotify on July 5, 2020. Red voiced his opinions on how Congress is handling the franchise hearings of the broadcaster.
